£60,000 - £70,000

Our privately owned client was founded nearly 40 years ago and is recognised as the pioneers of luxury housebuilding and an accolade they are determined to retain within this exclusive market sector.

They focus on prime residential areas of London and the adjoining Home Counties within the M25 offering wonderfully spacious family homes starting from £1.75m, rising to over £20m for one of their ‘super mansions’ on both a private sale and client build basis.

To go with their 20 strong client build projects, they also have a large private spec build development of 150 units, which will be built over the next 4 years.

Due to this expansion, we are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the established 10 person commercial department, covering projects in Surrey and West London offering flexibility with being based between the office and on sites.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for the full Surveying process including:

  • Prepare site budgets including liaising with finance, buying, construction, technical and sales departments.
  • Deal with subcontract enquiries including collation of information to ensure that subcontract quotations are submitted in line with all current information and health and safety requirements.
  • Carry out tender analysis of subcontractor quotations.
  • Place subcontract orders following completion of Pre-Commencement Meeting.
  • Ensure that all subcontracts hold relevant CHAS/Safemark accreditation and that insurance policies are in place for all current subcontractors.
  • Oversee valuation and payment of subcontractors’ accounts through to final account; including issue of subcontract variation orders where required.
  • Prepare periodic internal cost reports based on costs to date and forecasting future costs through to completion of the development.
  • Attend meetings for design development, value engineering, site meetings etc.
  • Liaise with Estimating Department regarding current costs.
  • Liaise with site management team in respect of day to day matters.
  • Provide cost control suggestions where appropriate and advise senior managers as required.
  • Consider alternative specifications/design solutions.
  • Advise costs of clients’ extras.

We are looking for someone with experience of working within the residential construction industry who has excellent IT skills and demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines. You will also have excellent organisational, planning and management skills.

With a large portfolio of client build properties as well as the private developments secured, this is a great opportunity to join a financially secure business with one of the best names in the industry, where the focus is on developing a “team” ethos throughout.
